Emotions are four times stronger than after the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics!

PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games are over. In the official medal count table for the Olympics 2018 team Belarus with its three gold medals is placed 15th. We will first of all remember these Olympics for Darya Domracheva’s silver medal in the mass start, Hanna Huskova’s gold in freestyle skiing and the phenomenal biathlon relay when Belarus at once claimed four champions in one night.

Today at Minsk National airport the Olympic team of the Republic of Belarus was welcomed back home in the Hall for Officials and Delegations (CIP-Lounge). On the grounds of the true leader first to enter the Hall was Darya Domracheva who is no stranger to ovations and rounds of applause accompanied by the bravura melody of the orchestra. «I would call these Games an Olympic challenge. We overcame everything we possibly could: frost, strong wind… except for rain perhaps. So now I just want to enjoy to the fullest these incredible moments and later I will think about the future. As you see, all four of us with happy smiles on our faces, I’m guessing the emotions are four times stronger than after the Sochi Games!».

Nadezhda Skardino also recollects the Olympic Games of 2014: «That medal was my first. However now I have a medal of high merit. The feelings are pretty much the same but considering that this win in PyeongChang was a team one, the emotions are certainly four times stronger. After the finish we were in the state of shock but it was mesmerizing! The next day we couldn’t even believe we have done it».

The biathletes heard out the congratulations and compliments from the officials, gave short and brief comments for media representatives and started to move towards the exit. On the way everyone was trying to capture the champions in order to take a selfie with them, present flowers or take an autograph. The way to the transfer car was not all easy however it was a pleasant one for sure.
